1. MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS
Kidz Theater's Mainstage Productions are the heart and soul of Kidz Theater. It all starts with a competitive, fun and professional audition process that is a learning process for all involved. All performers are in for an intense, rewarding rehearsal process that will give you invaluable professional training. We aim for each of our Mainstage productions to tackle major social justice issues. From racism to feminism, we allow students to make a statement to the world through their art. Through rigorous homework assignments and focused, disciplined and exciting rehearsals, we push all performers to the next level—as both people and performers. The cast works as a team, forming a supportive, family bond by learning to trust and respect each other's work. All of this hard work pays off when you are a part of an incredibly professional production and your skills as a performer have grown by leaps and bounds in just a few weeks.
We do three Mainstage productions a year, a Fall Mainstage, a Spring Mainstage and a Summer Mainstage
2. JUNIOR INTENSIVE PRODUCTIONS
Kidz Theater’s Junior Intensive Productions are geared toward students in grades 2-8. These productions teach younger performers how to work in a professional rehearsal and performance environment with the help of a high school age mentor. Performers in grades 3-8 will audition for select roles in the production. Those who are cast will be paired up with a high school mentor who is also a part of the cast! Throughout the rehearsal process, students will get lots of hands on time from both the director and their own mentor. Students learn professional rehearsal and performance skills and form amazing friendships with their older mentors and peers. Some performers have gone directly from a Junior Intensive Production to Broadway shows and national tours!
We do two Junior Intensive Productions per year. Over Winter Break, we do an Intensive Production of ANNIE JR. with a two week rehearsal and performance experience. Our second Junior Production is a summer production, usually in late August.

3. Classes
For those who seek extra one on one training to bring their skills to the next level, we offer classes. Our two main classes are the Junior Advanced Musical Theater class for grades 3-8 and the Advanced Musical Theater class for grades 8-12. These two classes teach a comprehensive study of musical theater technique by focusing on a different aspect of musical theater each semester. In addition to these two classes, we offer One Day Audition Workshops and periodically will offer beginner level classes or dance classes. Classes are limited to a small size (usually 10-12 students) and students learn from each other along with getting 1 on 1 instruction. Classes are focused yet fun and really aim to teach valuable skills to each student so that they have really grown as a performer by the end of each semester.
We offer 3 semesters of classes that run in 3-6 week semesters. Classes will sometimes conclude with a showcase of the student's work in an NYC theater.
